A toilet will be laid to rest today in Centerville.
Earlier this month, a customer at Carl’s Jr. accidentally shot and destroyed a toilet in the men’s room. Workers and visitors will hold a funeral today for the now-famous commode. On Carl’s Jr.’s Facebook page, a spokesman says, “Our thoughts go out to the surviving men’s room urinal and porcelain sink.”
The first 50 customers to attend the service will be given Kaboom brand bowl blaster toilet cleaner, which workers say was the toilet’s favorite.
“It was such a shame,” said Centerville Carl’s Jr. manager, Christian Martinez. “We have received e-mails and cards from all over the country expressing condolences for our loss.

Blowfish testicles prepared by an unauthorized chef sickened seven diners in northern Japan and three remained hospitalized Tuesday after eating the poisonous delicacy.
The owner of the restaurant in Tsuruoka city, who is also the chef, had no license to serve blowfish and was being questioned on suspicion of professional negligence, police official Yoshihito Iwase said.
Blowfish, while extremely poisonous if not prepared properly, is considered a delicacy in Japan and is consumed by thrill-seeking gourmets.
Iwase said the seven men ordered sashimi and grilled blowfish testicles at the restaurant Monday night.
Shortly after, they developed limb paralysis and breathing trouble and started to lose consciousness — typical signs of blowfish poisoning — and were rushed to a hospital for treatment, Iwase said.
A 68-year-old diner remained hospitalized in critical condition with respiratory failure and two others, aged 55 and 69, were in serious condition, he said.
“It’s scary. If you go to a decent-looking restaurant that serves fugu, you would assume a cook has a proper fugu license,” Iwase said, using the Japanese term for blowfish.
Blowfish poison, called tetrodotoxin, is nearly 100 times more poisonous than potassium cyanide, according to the Ishikawa Health Service Association. It can cause death within an hour and a half after consumption.
Three people died and 44 others were sickened by blowfish poisoning in 2007 — most of them after catching the fish and cooking it at home — according to the Health Ministry.

I know this is not the usual topic of our blog here, but please bear with us.

“We need your support to continue to make strides in tobacco prevention and promotion in Utah. With a plan to pretty much gut the Utah Department of Health’s Health and Promotions Bureau, the Health and Human Services Executive Appropriations Committee needs you to tell them that they are off their rockers.
As per yesterday’s Health and Human Services (HHS) Base Budget recommendations (http://www.le.state.ut.us/asp/interim/Commit.asp?Yea
r=2009&Com=APPHHS), Utah’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Program may be eliminated in FY09, FY10, and beyond.
FY09 cuts: $4,049,800 (will flatline all programs this year to accomodate)
FY10 cuts: $7,167,300 (eliminates all State funding for tobacco prevention)
ACTION IS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY. Vote was set for Friday but I have heard it has been postponed. Executive Appropriations will vote on the budgets above.
Here are reasons we need tobacco prevention and control:
1. It saves lives - smoking is the #1 preventable cause of death.
2. Smoking costs taxpayers millions of dollars each year.
3. Prevention and cessation programs are proven to work and Utah has been effective in reducing the number of smokers.
4. Other states who have cut tobacco spending, like Florida, Minnesota and California at times to help balance budgets, quickly saw youth smoking rates increase.
Act quickly to let your voice be heard. Phone is better than email as legislators may not access email before tomorrow.”

On Sunday at about 3 a.m. a 48-year-old woman woke up to knocking on her door. She answered and recognized Matthew Hill as a 24-year-old man that lives in her same complex so she opened the door.
Hill claimed he needed to talk because he had just broken up with his girlfriend. The woman said that Hill’s gentleman parts were hanging out of his pants, so she told him to go home. Mathew returned knocking on the door at 6 a.m. but she didn’t answer.
Mr. Hill made the rounds that night, knocking on a few other neighbor’s doors. Including a 62-year-old woman’s where he asked if she’d like to have a threesome. And another woman at about 8 a.m. who claimed Hill yelled at her and then exposed himself to her.
Mathew was arrested on suspicion of two counts of indecent exposure.

After taking a samurai sword and slashing his girlfriends forehead over the weekend, Edwin Rennolds III tried to make the crime scene disappear by attempting to wash the blood out of the bed sheets and mattress before the police had a chance to go over the place.
It didn’t work, not only is he being charged with the attack on his girlfriend, but they got him with tampering with physical evidence as well.

We imagine he must have been going for this look.

A San Francisco investment banker with quite a history of DUIs was out driving on January 11th 2005 when he hit, and killed 55-year-old Gurdeep Kaur. Lee Harbert, the driver fled the scene.
The story that Mr Herbert stuck to was that he hit a deer. Releasing him from the need to stop and assist with whatever he had just ran over. Originally police reports were for a burgandy Jaguar, and Lee’s was black. No way it could have been him.
Police later searched his house and computer. They searched his recent queries in Google and found these recent search terms: “auto parts, auto dealers out-of-state; auto glass, Las Vegas; auto glass reporting requirements to law enforcement, auto theft.” The one that did him in, was this gem, “hit-and-run” which he followed to a website that had the news story on the hit-and-run he committed.
Convicted, and later sentenced to three years in prison. Harbert attempted to appeal just last week, but was denied.

Tracey Fox, a British woman living in Thornley England used herself as a barricade against the door to her laundry room, with a repairman inside.
This all came to be after Tracey’s washing machine had broken 10 months after purchasing it. Fox placed five phone calls in December to have a repairman come out and fix it. Unfortunately no one would be able to come out until after Christmas.
Finally on January 13th a man finally showed up to fix the still broken washer. “He said that I’d have to pay for any repairs, even though the machine was still under warranty, and I might as well get a new one because the amount it would cost to fix it would be the same as buying another one,” Fox said.
Tracey then braced herself against the washroom door with the repairman trapped inside, not letting him leave until the appliance had been repaired. The repairman called the police, and then Fox said she permitted him to leave
Tracey Fox isn’t facing any criminal charges for her actions. Due to the incident Currys has offered to replace her washing machine.
“I’m not proud of my actions, but I felt there was no other option,” she said. “It sounds stupid thinking about it now, but it was the final straw.”

Imagine for a moment, you’re a 15 year old boy, hormones out of control and little Susie a 14 year old girl in your same math class that you’ve been crushing ons starts sexting you, and sends you a provocative revealing photo of herself to your cell phone. A few weeks later in another class you get your phone taken away by mean old Mrs. Crabtree. The teacher proceeds to go through your phone and discovers little Suzy’s picture, and a few others she has sent you.
Litte Miss Susie is in a lot of trouble. She is going to be charged with manufacturing, disseminating or possessing child pornography. But you’re not off the hook either. Susie, being the sweet sole she is inadvertently also assisted in letting you get slapped by the long arm of the law. You now face possession of child pornography charges.
This is exactly what happened at Greensburg Salem High School in PA. Six students in total all face the very adult charges involving child pornography. So remember, if you’re under 18 and want to share nudie pictures of yourself. Use fake ones you found on the internet, at least it wont come with child porn charges if you’re caught.
